Technology to Transform the Learning Experience

When we talk about using technology in teaching, are we simply adding tools on to what we already do as teachers, or are we using technology to transform the way we teach? The tools are great – they add value to what we do, they extend the classroom and empower the students to be self-directed learners – In short there are all sorts of benefits. But is that the ultimate point of using technology? David Warlick’s blog entry http://davidwarlick.com/2cents/?p=3009 talks about the Why of technology, and I think he’s spot on.
